Adjuvant! FAQs
Below is a list of frequently asked questions and their answers. This page provides a first line of support and addresses many common issues with the site.
How do I access different cancer versions of Adjuvant!
Different versions of Adjuvant! will be available upon the completion of each version's beta testing cycle. You will not need to re-register to access any of the new versions. When they become available, they will appear in your menu when you log in.
Why do I get a message saying that my computer cannot display the page?
The most common problem seems to be that in some browsers the next screen does not load on time. If this happens a screen saying "This page cannot be displayed" may appear. This problem can often be simply corrected by clicking the "Refresh" button on the browsers tool bar.
Why is my computer alerting me for permissions relating to security?
In order to ensure that the information being sent to your computer and information sent to Adjuvant!'s server is not tampered with or viewed by others the information is encrypted and handled with SSL technologies. This is much the same as used for Web based financial transactions and uses resources licensed from Verisign Inc., a leader in this field. Incidentally using the program does not involve entering any patient identifiers.
What are the origins of the program Adjuvant!?
Adjuvant! is an evidence based program which had its origins in trying to make information in the San Antonio Data Base more applicable to clinical practice. It draws on information from the SEER data base, the Overviews of clinical trials, individual clinical trial results, and the literature in general. The basic format of an early version of Adjuvant! was described in the article (Ravdin, Siminoff, Davis, et al. JCO 19(4) 980-991, 2001) published on February 15th 2001. It has been widely used as a program directly loaded from CD ROM. Adjuvant is a constant state of evolution as new information becomes available. An explanation of much of how the program works can be found in the Help Files.
